Project Five-O LA is a partnership of four international women's service and
advocacy organizations with memberships in the greater Los Angeles area:
Soroptimist International of Los Angeles (SILA); Zonta International District 9
(ZI); Business and Professional Women, International (BPWI); and the
American Association of University Women (AAUW).

We are not-for-profit organizations committed to advancing the status of
women and girls through awareness, action, advocacy and service projects
in the Los Angeles area.

Project Five-O LA was established in response to the release of the UN
General Secretary's report that delineated the extent and impact from a
global perspective of violence against women. Using this report as a
framework it is our goal to identify the policies in place within Los Angeles
County that assist victims of violence and to advocate for improvements to
the current system that will help to alleviate all aspects of this problem.

Project Five-O LA is actually an affiliate of Project Five-O, a 501 (c)(3) that
was established in 1980 to advocate for improvements in the status of
women both locally and internationally, while providing services that improve
conditions for women in their local communities.
