Our mission is to draw attention the extent of the problem of violence against women in Los Angeles County and to collaborate with professionals who work in areas of to treatment, education and prevention to discuss and recommend changes in policy that will make a real impact in ending violence against women in Los Angeles and beyond. Join us as we craft real solutions for the future. Leadership Project Five-0-Los Angeles has invited business and business organizations, not for profit organizations and groups, government agencies, community groups, men's service organizations, and others to work collaboratively on the event. Our goal is to attract those who are accountable to the population of affected women and who have the authority to drive needed change in the Los Angeles area. Policy Summit Goal Using as a framework the 2006 United Nations Secretary General's report on violence against women the goal of this policy summit is to: Participants Participants should be able to contribute to the knowledge base for this issue and work to construct policy recommendations for the improvement of the system. |
Mission |
Identify what within the system already in place works to address violence against women and to assist those affected by this kind of crime in Los Angeles. Identify the opportunities for improvement in resource deployment to prevent, detect, prosecute and apply consequences to violence against women and to assist the victim survivors of violence In the Los Angeles area. Develop prioritized recommendations for policy and performance improvements over the next 9 to 12 months to address the opportunities promulgated. |
